SERVICES

Our Customers Deserve The Best Quality Product, Information And Service.

The FACOMGuarantee

The Facom tools are designed and manufactured to be used by the professionals of maintenance and construction under intensive conditions.

Design, the choice of materials, tests of quality, permanent improvement of the production equipments. It is this requirement which makes it possible to offer to the user of a FACOM Tool, the guarantee of quality and service which it has the right to wait.

The term “FACOM’s Guarantee” became a generic term, synonymous with serious and quality. To be more effective and clear for everybody, (customer – user, Facom’s distributor) the conditions and the methods of application of FACOM guarantee is defined in the contract attached: Thank you to take care to read it before any question about this subject.

IMPLEMENTATION

FACOM guarantees its products against any defects arising due to faulty materials or workmanship. This guarantee is in addition to any national statutory guarantee, and is subject to the conditions specified below.

The FACOM guarantee involves exchange or repair limited to replacement of the faulty parts in accordance with the terms and conditions specified below.

All repairs under guarantee are performed in our workshops. The costs of carriage to our workshop are to be paid by the sender. The guarantee covers parts, labour provided by the FACOM after-sales Department and the costs of returning the product to the distributor.

All repairs are covered by a six month guarantee on parts and labour. This guarantee only applies to the components changed during the previous repair, with the exception of consumables.

In line with its policy of continual product improvements to meet user needs and technological developments, FACOM may upgrade or discontinue the models shown in its catalogue without notice and without entailing any obligation on its part to repair tools or equipment sold previously.

Those items no longer included in the range will then be replaced by a technically equivalent product or a credit note will be issued.

CONDITIONS OF APPLICATION

Unless otherwise specified, the FACOM guarantee applies to all tools under normal conditions of use.The FACOM Guarantee does not cover the following:

Consumables (i.e. products that become deteriorated or damaged during use). These include, but are not limited to, drill bits, saw blades, abrasive discs, knife blades, files, batteries, driving bits, etc.

Normal wear and tear (in particular of wearing parts), failure to use the product for its intended purpose or in accordance with our instructions, neglect or inadequate maintenance on the part of the user.

Modifications or repairs not carried out by Facom’s After Sales Service,

Act of God (fire, flooding, lightening; etc.).

The guarantee period takes effect from the date of purchase by the customer from the FACOM customer-distributor. A copy of the invoice proving the date of purchase from the distributor may be requested in the event of a claim under the guarantee. In the case of technical products covered by a limited guarantee class D, it shall systematically be supplied together with the serial number where one is indicated on the tool.

Beyond the guarantee period, in the event that a repair can be effected, it will only be so upon acceptance by the customer of a fixed repair charge.

The application of the guarantee shall entail no indemnity or damages of any kind, for whatever reason.

TorqueControl

• Application of the correct force (tensile load) is essential for a reliable assembly:

– undertight fasteners can work loose;

– overtight fasteners may distort components or shear.

• Tensile load depends on tightening torque and friction coefficient.

Tensile load (Fo)

The force in newtons (N) which maintains pressure contact between assembled components.

Tightening torque (Cs)

The product of a force and the leverage length at which it is applied: Torque (Nm) = Force (in newtons) x Length (in metres).

HOW TIGHT A TORQUE?

1. Always observe equipment manufacturer’s specifications.

2. If none are available, determine required torque on a test rig.

3. Otherwise, refer to national standards.

Tightening torque table

Torque values are given for 85% fastener yield strength, for class “A” torque control accuracy (< ±5%).

1. Friction coefficient

Actual friction coefficient depends on fastener and component condition, and affects tightening. Choose the appropriate table according to type of fasteners used (i.e. µ = 0,10, 0,15 or 0,20).

2. Fastener grade

The grade of a fastener denotes its quality (best is 12.9). Check the appropriate column for the fasteners used.

3. Tightening torque (Cs)

Torque values are listed in newton-metre (Nm) for each type of fastener. 4. Tensile load (Fo)

This force in newtons (N) is the equivalent of an Fomax value.

The above information, for which Facom accepts no liability, is given as a guide only.

CONVERSION TABLE:

The internationally accepted unit is the newton-metre (Nm)

1. To convert Nm:

• Newton metres to kilogramme force metres : 1 Nm = 0,102 kgf m

• Newton metres to pound force feet : 1 Nm = 0,738 lbf ft

• Newton metres to pound force inches : 1 Nm = 8,851 lbf in

• Newton metres to ounce force inches : 1 Nm = 141,61 ozf in
